A wide event header cropped so the date, the venue and the name survive on a phone.

100% private. Your image is resized on your own device using your browser. It is never uploaded to a server, and there is no account to create.

Works with images up to roughly 50 MP (about 8000 × 6000 px) depending on your device's memory. WebP export is unavailable in a few older Safari versions — the option is disabled automatically when that is the case.

How it works

Three steps, no account, no watermark.

Add your image

Drag a file onto the box, click to browse, or paste straight from your clipboard with Ctrl + V. Nothing is uploaded anywhere.

Frame it

The crop box is already locked to 1920 × 1005. Drag the image to move it and scroll or pinch to zoom until it looks right.

Pick PNG, JPG or WebP. The file is compressed automatically to stay under Facebook's limit — or grab every Facebook size at once as a ZIP.

About the facebook event cover size

A Facebook event cover is 1920 × 1005 pixels, close to a 1.91:1 landscape — the same broad shape Facebook uses for link previews. It is the image that represents your event everywhere it travels: on the event page itself, in the feed when someone marks themselves as going, and in the share preview when an attendee sends it to a friend.

That travelling is what makes the crop matter. In the feed and in previews the cover is shown smaller and sometimes trimmed further, so an event poster designed for print — dense with lineup, sponsors, small print and a QR code — becomes unreadable. The covers that work carry three things at a readable size: what it is, when it is, and where. Everything else belongs in the event description, which is right underneath and infinitely more legible.

Tips for Facebook

What actually makes the difference once the size is right.

Three facts, large

What, when, where. If a fourth thing is fighting for space, it belongs in the description rather than the image.

Do not reuse a print poster

A4 posters are portrait and dense. Cropped to a wide landscape and shrunk to feed size, the essential details are the first casualties.

Keep the edges quiet

The cover is trimmed differently on phones and in share previews. Anything at the outer edge is at risk.

High contrast for the feed

Event covers compete in a busy feed. Strong colour separation gets noticed where a subtle photograph scrolls past.

Frequently asked questions

What size is a Facebook event cover?

1920 × 1005 pixels, roughly 1.91:1 landscape. It is the widest of the Facebook cover formats and is also used in feed and share previews.

Why is my event cover cropped?

Facebook trims the cover differently on phones and in share previews. Keeping key content away from the edges solves it.

Can I use a portrait event poster?

Not directly — the slot is wide landscape. Use the crop or blurred-edge options here to adapt it without distorting the artwork.

What size is a Facebook group cover?

1640 × 856. It is a different shape again and is in the table on this page.

Does the event cover appear in the feed?

Yes, when people respond or share it, which is why it needs to work at small sizes as well as on the event page.

Are my images uploaded?

No. Everything is processed locally in your browser.
