TikTok Video Cover Size: 1080 × 1920

Build a 9:16 cover that still looks right when TikTok squeezes it into your profile grid.

Exact size 1080 × 1920 px Ratio 9:16 Max file 5 MB Formats JPG, PNG, WEBP Source Recommended
100% private. Your image is resized on your own device using your browser. It is never uploaded to a server, and there is no account to create.

Works with images up to roughly 50 MP (about 8000 × 6000 px) depending on your device's memory. WebP export is unavailable in a few older Safari versions — the option is disabled automatically when that is the case.

How it works

Three steps, no account, no watermark.

Add your image

Drag a file onto the box, click to browse, or paste straight from your clipboard with Ctrl + V. Nothing is uploaded anywhere.

Frame it

The crop box is already locked to 1080 × 1920. Drag the image to move it and scroll or pinch to zoom until it looks right.

Download

Pick PNG, JPG or WebP. The file is compressed automatically to stay under TikTok's limit — or grab every TikTok size at once as a ZIP.

About the tiktok video cover size

A TikTok cover is a 1080 × 1920 image — the same 9:16 canvas as the video itself. But it lives two lives. Full screen it is the first frame people see when your video starts; on your profile it is compressed into a grid tile roughly 1:1.29, cropped from the centre. A cover that looks great full screen can lose its title completely in the grid.

So design for the middle. Put your hook text in the central band of the frame, around 40% down, where both the full-screen view and the grid crop keep it. Then check the bottom: your username, the caption and the sound title sit over the lower fifth of the screen during playback, and the grid tile adds a view counter in the bottom-left corner.

The complete list — click any row to load that size into the tool, or use the ZIP button to export all of them at once. Official means the platform publishes that figure itself; Recommended means it is the widely used standard where the platform publishes none.

Tips for TikTok

What actually makes the difference once the size is right.

Put the hook text in the middle band

The grid crop keeps roughly the central 1:1.29 of your cover. Text placed high or low gets cut off there, even though it looks fine full screen.

Keep the bottom fifth clear

Caption, username and the rotating sound disc all sit over the lower part of the screen. Nothing readable should live there.

Make the grid read as a set

Covers with the same text position, colour and font turn your profile into something that looks designed rather than accidental.

High contrast survives compression

TikTok compresses covers hard. Bold shapes and strong colour separation hold up; subtle gradients and thin type do not.

Frequently asked questions

What size is a TikTok video cover?

1080 × 1920 pixels, 9:16 — the same as the video frame. This tool exports exactly that, compressed to a sensible file size.

Why does my TikTok cover look cropped on my profile?

The profile grid shows a roughly 1:1.29 slice from the centre of the 9:16 cover. Anything near the top or bottom edge is cut. Keep text in the middle band.

Can I change a TikTok cover after posting?

Yes, you can edit the cover of a posted video from the app. Having the correctly sized image ready first makes it a five-second job.

What is the TikTok profile picture size?

Upload 1080 × 1080. It is displayed as a circle at around 200 px, so keep the subject centred and tight.

Does TikTok accept PNG covers?

Yes. JPG is smaller for photographic covers; PNG is better if your cover is mostly flat colour and text.

Is this tool free?

Completely. No account, no watermark, no upload limit — and the images are processed on your own device.
