About the linkedin company page cover size
A LinkedIn company page cover is 1128 × 191 pixels. That is a ratio of nearly 6:1, which makes it one of the most extreme shapes on any major platform and a completely different image from the 1584 × 396 personal profile banner people often confuse it with. Uploading the personal size into the company slot leaves you with a crop through the middle of whatever you designed.
At 191 pixels tall, a photograph of an office or a team is reduced to a horizontal slice where nobody's face is fully visible. The company covers that work treat the strip as a graphic device: a gradient, a product silhouette repeated across the width, a single line of positioning text, or simply a brand colour with the logo mark offset to one side. Your company logo already appears as a separate square on top of the cover, so the cover does not need to repeat it.

| Image | Size (px) | Max file | Source | What to know | Action |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Profile banner | 1584 × 396 | 8 MB | Official | 4:1. Your profile photo covers the lower-left corner on desktop. | |
| Shared post image | 1200 × 627 | 5 MB | Official | 1.91:1. The same ratio LinkedIn uses for link previews. | |
| Company page cover | 1128 × 191 | 8 MB | Official | Very wide and short — treat it as a strip, not a photo. | |
| Profile photo | 400 × 400 | 8 MB | Official | Head and shoulders, face filling about 60% of the frame. | |
| Company logo | 300 × 300 | 8 MB | Official | Square. A PNG keeps flat logo edges crisp. |
Tips for LinkedIn
What actually makes the difference once the size is right.
It is not the personal banner size
Personal profiles use 1584 × 396. Company pages use 1128 × 191. Mixing them up is the most common LinkedIn image error.
Treat it as a graphic strip
At 191 pixels tall, photographs of people or offices become unusable slices. Gradients, patterns and product silhouettes work.
The logo sits on top already
Your company logo displays as a separate square over the cover. Repeating it inside the strip wastes the space.
One short line, if any
A positioning line of five or six words can work. A sentence cannot — there is no room for it at a readable size.
Frequently asked questions
What size is a LinkedIn company page cover?
1128 × 191 pixels, a ratio close to 6:1, under 8 MB. It is different from the personal profile banner.
What is the difference from the personal LinkedIn banner?
The personal profile background is 1584 × 396 at 4:1. The company page cover is 1128 × 191, much shorter and wider. Both have pages on this site.
What size is a LinkedIn company logo?
300 × 300 square. It sits over the cover and is included in the ZIP pack here.
Can I use a team photo as a company cover?
Rarely well. At 191 pixels tall it becomes a horizontal slice. A graphic treatment or a wide product shot suits the shape far better.
What size should company post images be?
1200 × 627 at 1.91:1 for shared posts. It is in the table on this page.
Is anything uploaded to a server?
No. Every crop happens in your own browser.
