About the linkedin banner size
LinkedIn's background photo is 1584 × 396 pixels, a 4:1 strip that sits behind the top of your profile. It is the largest piece of visual real estate you get on the platform and the one most people leave as the default blue gradient, which is a quiet waste of the first thing a recruiter or client sees.
Two things break LinkedIn banners. The first is the profile photo, which overlaps the lower-left corner on desktop — roughly the first 250 pixels — so anything you put there is hidden. The second is mobile, where the banner is cropped tighter on both sides; the outer 15% of the width is not reliably visible. Keep your message in the right two-thirds, vertically centred, and it works on both.
